Description: Photograph of planted May 2, 1955. 26 acre field of common bermuda grass established by planting 2 lobs of hulled bermuda grass seed with 100 lbs 10-20-10 fertilizer per acre in shallow furrows on a well prepared cultipacked seedbed (7-OH-B-3-III). Two months after seeding date, Mr. Mabry reports 26 head of 2 and 3 year-old white face cows are grazing this new bermuda planting at this date and it is carrying them. Bermudagrass Seed

Description: Photograph of NK-37 Bermudagrass seed. Seeding and fertilizing rate was 1/2 lb. hulled NK-37 bermuda grass seed with 125 lbs. 10-20-10 per acre at seeding time. Seed was mixed with fertilizer and planted in shallow furrows 18 inches apart with an Ezy-Flow fertilizer Spreader with "Pray" furrowing device attached.

Choctaw Execution of Silan Lewis

Description: Photograph of the execution of Choctaw Silan Lewis in Wilburton, I.T. Wilburton was at the time in Gaines County in the Choctaw Nation (now Latimer County). The execution took place on November 5, 1894. Sheriff Lyman Pusley executed Lewis with his rifle. Lewis was convicted of killing Joe Hoklotubbe.

Description: Photograph of Lee H. Carlton, WUC, Talihina, examining a field of Lovegrass (eragrotis curvula) and Services lespedeza. Mixture planted April 19, 1955. fertilization with 100 lbs. 10-20-10 and 200 lbs. 0-20-0. Mowed June 10, 1955-15 bales hay per acre. Potato Hill, 6d, drouthy soil. This is an introductory planting of weeping lovegrass in this area. Looks promising.

Drainage

Description: Photograph of a field drainage ditch in Fourche Maline creek bottom constructed in the spring of 1956. Ditch is 2 feet deep, 16 feet wide and 3700 feet in length. It was constructed to drain a 80 acre field to make it useful for cropland. Ditch was designed, laid out, and staked by SCS Technicians. It was constructed to planned specifications.
