Description: A photograph postcard (& negative) showing Denver and Rio Grand Western (DRGW) 494, 2-8-2, narrow gauge, Silver Vista Excursion, at Gunnison, CO. This loco pulled the excursion train up the east side of Marshall Pass without a helper, down to Gunnison, up to Crested Butte and back. Next evening it took the train back to Salida, CO, having loco 492 as a helper from Sargents to top of the of the pass.
