Description: Photograph used for a story in the Oklahoma City Times newspaper. Caption: "Two men died in the splintering crash of a light plane near Yukon late Tuesday morning while the family of one of the victims watched from the ground. Killed instantly was Gerald Miller, 34, of 136 Leonard lane, Midwest City, a Tinker Air Force base employe. Robert Norfleet, 27, of 2609 SW 48, died shortly after arriving at Baptist Memorial hospital from injuries suffered in the crash. A Tinker spokesman said the aircraft was a Piper Club PA-18, owned by the Tinker Aero Club. The light aircraft, with tandem seating for two, was demolished. The impact crushed the fuselage to less than 24 inches in thickness. Sanford Miller, father of Gerald Miller, and a younger brother, Gordon, were witnesses to the crash. The younger Miller, 19, was making movies of the plane's take-off when it plunged into a plowed field. The elder Miller, in a 'state of shock, told this story to newsmen: "They had flown in to visit the family. The plane hardly got into the air when she came crashing down.......Highway patrol trooper Ralph Morganb said it wasn't determinded which of the victims was piloting the aircraft. Sanford Miller said his son did not have a pilot's license.........Canadian county Sheriff Dwight Siler said he belived the aircraft encountered too "much draft in that stubble, and couldn't get up air speed.".....CAA officials and Tinker officers were reported on their way to the scene to inestigate the crash at midafternoon."
