Caption: "It Was Busy Palm Sunday for parents and ministers of St. Luke's Methodist church, not to mention the little tykes. The pastor, Dr. W. McFerrin Stowe, and his three associates administered the sacrament of baptism to 80 infants and small children Sunday. A total of 44 (count 'em) were baptized during the traditional Palm Sunday ceremony at 4 p.m. This picture shows the parents and tots at that event. With Dr. Stowe (left behind altar rail) are associates Rev. Joseph T. Shackford and Rev. W. Carroll Pope. Not present for this photo was Rev. Clarence E. Nisbett. Beside this group, 18 babies and small tots were baptized during the first morning service; 18 more in the second. All became preparatory members of the church."
