Description: Photograph used for a story in the Daily Oklahoman newspaper. Caption: "(As written by Mann) The hero of this story, as far as I'm concerned, is the young fellow who is the athletic director and head football coach at Oklahoma University. Bud Wilkinson is one of the youngest big-time coaches, and I guess I'm one of the oldest. I've coached more years than he has lived, yet I owe him a great deal. He saved my coaching life when he had the courage to call me out of retirement to coach his swimmers. His disrespect for old age and retirement laws have made me feel young and useful again. I'm back teaching kids to swim, which is what I'm sure God intended me to do."
