Caption: "Governor Kerr was the first person in Oklahoma City to donate a pint of blood for conversion into plasma to go overseas, when the mobile unit began functioning in the Biltmore hotel Monday morning. Mrs. Ira Gibson, nurse who came with the unit from Fort Worth, was pleased not only to be allowed to take the blood from the first donor, but also to get her picture taken. (Her husband is serving overseas.)"
