Irrigation Borders

Description: Photograph of flooding a cotton crop in the Washita River bottom, soil unit 8H, AL,. RP. This field of 22 acres was level bordered in March 1955, and at the time the photo was taken, estimates were that this cotton was laready able to produce 1 1/2bales per acre. Wheat on this same field in 1952 made a complete failure, cotton in 1953 and 1954 was also a complete failure. Source of water, Washita River.
