Description: Photograph of range improvement, H. Mead Norton, Ti Ranch. Excellent condition of native grass to the left of the fence has been accomplished by treating brush and deferred grazing. The pasture to the left of the fence was sprayed by airplane in June, 1956, with 2 pounds of 2-4-5T herbicide per acre, and again with 1 poind per acre in June, 1957. Description: Photograph of pasture management. This 20 acre field (old pasture) was planted to corn and sodded to Bermuda grass last spring. Bermuda grass has now covered the field and is a perfect stand over the entire area. 38 steers were brought into the pasture after the corn was harvested. Grass, Legume and Forb Cultivation

Description: Photograph of the Canant brothers’ farm, Idabel, Oklahoma. Four years ago when the Canant brothers bought a 400 acre farm, most of it was a worthless, wooded area that would not carry more than 25 head of cattle. They cleared 12 acres seeded it to Dallis grass, yellow hop, black medick and white Dutch clover. This improvement increased the land’s carrying capacity to two cows per acre. Additional pasture work has been done and the farm now carries 100 head of cattle. OK-9204.
