Caption: "Troubles were multiplying Friday for a 34-year-old mother whose small son is suffering from a "usually fatal" liver disease in University Hospital. Mrs. Bobbie Jean Crawford was arrested on a new bad check charge when she appeared for a hearing on a Texas complaint. The hearing was canceled because Lieut. Gov. Leo Winters, touched by the woman's plight, had canceled an arrest warrant on a Texas charge."
