Edwards Memorial Hospital

Description: Photograph of the Edwards Memorial Hospital in Oklahoma City. The hospital was built by Walter J. Edwards and his wife Frances. The hospital was dedicated in 1948 and operated until 1960. It was a three-story, 105 bed hospital. It was reported to be the first hospital of its size and caliber in the South completely owned and operated by African Americans.
