Down Home Blues Club & OK Blues Hall of Fame
The childhood home of famed blues guitarist D.C. Minner is now a club featuring blues artists and memorabilia. Opened in 1988 by Minner and his bassist wife, Selby, this Oklahoma landmark serves as both a historic and active musical venue in the historic all-black town of Rentiesville. After Minner's death in 2008, his wife Selby continued performing, recording, and teaching the blues in Oklahoma and around the nation.
This multifaceted space hosts the annual Dusk 'Til Dawn Blues Festival each autumn and the Oklahoma Blues Hall of Fame, celebrating lesser-known Oklahoma blues musicians. The D.C. Minner Rentiesville Museum is located within the club and is an archive of the great guitar player's career. Visitors can enter D.C.’s recording studio, view his personal memorabilia, and learn about all the musicians who have played the annual festival.
Club events include the blues hall of fame induction concert each spring, and periodic concerts and jam sessions.
