Chisholm Trail Museum and Horizon Hill

The Chisholm

The mission of The Chisholm is to collect, preserve, and share the history and culture of Oklahoma's innovative spirit, commerce, trade, and industry. We are located along the Chisholm Trail, one of the greatest cattle trails in the world. Today we are in the process of transforming the museum. Exciting changes are happening, including major renovations to Horizon Hill, our Heritage Village, and the main museum.

Horizon Hill

Horizon Hill was the home of the third Territorial Governor of Oklahoma, Abraham Jefferson Seay. The three-story home was completed in March 1892, just in time to host dignitaries for the opening of the Cheyenne and Arapaho Lands.

The Heritage Village allows visitors to step back in time while touring historic structures, including an early Kingfisher Bank, Gant Schoolhouse, Harmony Church, a jail cell, Dalton Cabin, and Cole Cabin.
