CHINA GROVE or CHINA MOTT, TX: China Grove or China Mott, is located at a point (31° 54'N 102° 11'W) fifteen miles southwest of Midland, Texas, in west central Midland County. The trees and windmill provided a popular picnic setting for early Midland County residents. Since this was not an inhabited area, there was no post office or cemetery.
