Description: Portrait of the Governor of Oklahoma Territory (1897 - 1901), Honorable C.M. (Cassius McDonald) Barnes. Born in Livingston County, New York in 1845. Family moved to Michigan when he was age four. In 1861, he enlisted at the age of sixteen and served in the Civil War. After the war, he settled in Arkansas with his wife and three children.
