About the Physical Collection
The Oklahoma Department of Transportation Collection at the Oklahoma Historical Society Photo Archives is mostly composed of thirty-four feet of 4x5 flexible base black and white negatives. Representing all 77 counties in Oklahoma, the collection features both urban and rural images. Included are photographs of paved and gravel roads and highways, as well as rivers, bridges, equipment and machinery, instruments and gauges, railroads, damages, and repairs. There are also some images of buildings, industrial areas, employees, and promotional materials.
