Recently Mrs. Joe Parks ordered
a cockrel and six pullets of the Bur-
red Plymouth Rock variety from a
noted breeder at Fort Wayne, Indi-
ana. They were shipped to arrive here
just before the opening of the annual
poultry show of the Harmon County
Poultry Association, and they just
did get here in time, arriving on Fri
day, the next day after the show
opened. Mrs. Parks had several al-
ready entered the birds in the show
and pens had been reserved for them.
When prizes were awarded the new-
ly arrived birds got two first prizes,
one second and carried off the sweep-
stakes for being the best, pen in the
show.
