DETROIT, Aug. 4.—Rain caused
a further postponement of the Gragf
circuit races today, splitting the long
oard in two, but not before E. F.
Gears had added a llfth M. and M. to
his long string of triumphs.
Duplicating his feat with Dudle
Archdale lust year, the veteran today
piloted Anvil to a straight heat vic-
tory, showing the way to a field of.

won fourth place In the stake with
Lady Willow, driven by Wizard Mo-
Henry, and had not his third starter,
The Huguenot, acted so badly, he
might have had three horses Inside
the money.
Anvil liked going. The track was
soft, actually muddy in spots along
the rail, but this was no handicap
to the bay stallion, although It un-
doubtedly spoiled the chances of some
of the others. The Huguenot lived
strictly up to his unenviable reputa-
tion, breaking disgracefully Just
when he seemed to bo going at his
best. After causing a long delay at
the start, he got away with a rush,
made a gallant showing to the first
turn, went oft his feet, and was done.

multiply so far' the little fighters are
