For the Farmer.
The corn exposition at Chica-
go in October. Can you be there?
Don't forget that the early cul-
tivation of the corn is most im-
portant.
The farmer must keep read up
on farm topics if he would be pro-
gressive.
Be a first rate farmer. To be
such requires the use of brains
and brawn, but it pays.
Promote the cows to the butch-
ering pen who do not come up to
the average yield of the herd.
Seeing is believing, is an old
saying, but just remember that
the eyes are not always to be
believed.

Because of the high price of
beeswax the production of that
commodity is of far more impor-

It requires skill in handling the
farm team to get the most out of
it. Study to know your horses,
and the easiest method of hand-
ling them.
Experiments by the Purdue
(Ind.) experiment station shows
that hogs following steers which
are fed ear corn and clover hay
make the greatest gains.
Any thing which excites the
cow disturbs the milk-making
functions. Never permit hard
driving, abuse, loud talking or
anything which disturb the herd.
Go over at least once a week
the farm implements which are in
use and make sure that the bolts
are tight. A little forethought
and care will save many an an-
noying delay.
The bee keeper should make it
a point to study up clover culture
for there is nothing finer than
clover honey, and it is said that
some of the finest clovers are un-
known in this oountry.
Why do you feed salt to your
cows? The ,Mississippi experi-
ment station haa made a practi-
cal teat of the question, which
shows conclusively that salt is
beneficial. Three cows were
kept without salt for a period of
four period of four weeks. Duu-
ing the last two weeks a record
of their milk production was kept
and they gave 454 pounds. They
They wera then' given their usual

Every Man H's Own Doctor.
The average man cannot afford
to employ a physician for every
slight ailment or injury that may
occur in his family, nor can he af-
ford to neglect them, as so slight
an injury as the scratch of a pin
has been known to cause the losa
of a limb. Honce every man must
from necessity be his own doctor
for this class of ailments. Suc-
cess often depends upon prompt
treatment, which can only be had
when suitable medicines are kept
at hand. Chamderlain's Remedies
have been on the market for many
years and enjoy a good reputation.
