Personal Responsibility of Stockholders Over One and a Half Million Dollars
The management of thi bank have adopted a LIBERAL, though CONSERV-
ATIVE, policy in all matter* pertaining to the affairs of the imtitution, know-
ing that the intelligent public is quick to recognize in such a policy ABSO-
LUTE SECURITY and SAFETY of all deposits intrusted to our care. We
are always in position to grant our customers such accommodations as their
accounts will justify, or that come within the scope of a strictly conservative
banking institution.

FINAL PROOFS WILL BE ILLEGAL.!
When Made Before County Judges at
Place Outside of the
County Seat.
Any
OF ELECTION.
Notice is hereby given that an
Final proofs, filings contests and
other business pertaining to gov- NOTICE
emment land will be illegal and
void when made or transacted oe-
fore any probate or county judge i election will be held in Texhoma,
of any county outside of the coun- J Oklahoma, at Allison & Cosby'
. . J office (Lot <i in Block 20) on Tues-
rhis matter was brought up and
decided several years ago when j day February I, 190H, for the pur-
the probate judge of Beaver coun- | po8e of eleoting three Trustees,
ty had been sending his clerk out
of his office to meet the excursion
trains on the Rock Island and
would tile those who made appli-
cation for entry on Beaver county
land. Complaint was made to
the department of interior at
Washington and tho probate
judge was promptly notified that
all land office matters must be
transacted at his office at the
county seat.
No probate or county judge can
have two offices or even hold
couit at any other place in tho
county away from the county seat
unless it is provided for by spe-
cial legislation- And evon though
court terms may he held at some
other place than the county seat
no land office business could be
transacted away from the county
judges offi<-e.
Which must be at the county
seat—
According to the constitution of
the state of Oklahoma
All county offices must maintain
their offices at the county seat
and—
They are not allowed the
privi ege of running a branch of-
fice at any other place in the coun-
ty-
And no officer authorized to take
final proofs, is allowed to take
any such proofs outside of his of-
fice.
No U. S. Commissioner, Dis-
trict Clerk or County Judge can
have more than one office, and he
cannot attend to any matter per-
taining to government land out
side of his office.
Any man who claims otherwise
is woefully and wholly ignorant
of the public land laws, or
He is trying to obtain money
from the homesteaders under
false pretenses.
And in either case he is not de
serving the confidence of the pub
lie and is wholly unfit to attend to
matters pertaining to titles to gov-
ernment lands.
Any final proofs taken before
any county judge outside of his
office at the county seat is illigal
in every respect and may cause
the homesteader to lose his claim.
The absolute facts are given,
and—
Aiy oounty judge who advises
differently is,
Either wholly ignorant op
the law, and wholly unfit for the
position he occupies, or,
He is a fraud and seeks to ob-
tain money from unsuspecting
homesteaders, under falsb Pre-
tenses.
And, don't forget—
That if you make final proof be-
fore any officer outside of his of
flee, that
you will surely pail.
Remember, if you make final
proof before any county judge it
MUST be made at his office at the
county seat.

Harry Hunt has begun the erec
tion of a big store building in tho
Texas addion southwest of the
Texas State Bank. Ho intends to
build one of the best buildings of
the city and will put in a line
of grain and feed stuff. Ho is one
of the best grain men in tho south
west and his big establishment
will materially help tho grain
market of the city.

'and division is being moved
com Santa Rosa, and has
Ko-peets for a city of some mag-
litude. All kinds of business is
oing in and the city seems to be
, owing as if by magic. The
tromoters of the city through Mr.

Editor of The Times, a tempting
imposition to put in a newspaper

al live manner. As Mr. Fisher
s k<*pt so busily engaged with his
iffice In this city and his news-

jiven a definite answer, but he
vill likely accept the proposition.
Mr. Mikle is building a mam-

TO CIMARRON COUNTY
HOMESTEADERS
The report has been circulated I
in your county that final proof-1
made before U. S. Commissioreri- j
would bo illegal in futuro unless
made before a Commissioner in
your county.
I wish to inform all my claim
holding friends that any such re-
port ia absolutely false. More
final proofs have been made
and are being made at my office
by claimants living in Cimarron
county than at all other < ffices in
the Woodward land district.
The story has evidently been
circulated in the interests of some
one in Cimarron county who
wants to take final prsofs and who
seeks to do the business, not on
his own merits or qualifications
for the work but by trying to
scare unsuspecting homesteaders
to come to him.
Where sufficient residence, cul-
tivation and good faith has been
shown in a final proof the claim-
ant from Cimarron oounty has
never had any trouble in making
his proof and obtainiug tittle to
his land at my office.
This letter is written in the in
terest of the homesteaders who
should n t be scajed into going
to Kenton to submit proof to his
claim. Very Respectfully,
J. S. Fisher.

Judge Wilson Visits Schools.
Judge Wilson, of Stratford waa
here Tuesday of this week and
▼islted the schools in the Texas
addition and delivered a very
helpful address to both teachers
and pupils.
Judge Wilson compliments the
schools in the highest manner and
was very profuse in his praises of
splendid work being accomplished
by the principal, Miss Capeton
and her assistant Miss Hunt.
They are both skilled teachers
and there are none more qualified
than they to be found in the whole
of the Panhandle.
Willie Leo died Tuesday of this
