PARDON
A. A. Clark's Father Circulating
Petition Asking Ciovernor Fer -
guson's Intervention.
The father of A. A. Clark, who was
convicted at the last term of the dis-
trict court, for assaulting young Gold
with intent to do bodily harm, is circu-
lating a petition, asking the govern-
or's pardon. lit: was here Tuesday to
see the sheriff, county attorney and
other officials in relation to the matter,
and was also trying to see the jurors
who returned tbe verdict of guilty, to
get them to join in the request for par-
don. He will ask Judge Gillette to use
his inlluence with the governor, but it
is not known yet whether he will do so
or not, nor is it known whether the
! other officers signed the petition.
Seven graduates of Roberts Business
College went to work as bookkeepers
