near Aline last Monday morning
at 2 o'clock of cramp colic. The

brother Earnest were in town
the forepart r>f this week. They
have been hauling lumber for
the new yard, and expect to con-
tinue freighting and make this
place headquarters so as to
catch on to the tail of the boom

In our issue of Nov 23rd. we
mentioned the marriage of Jas.
Garner and Miss Jossie Dunham.
We have just learned that our in
formant was mistaken as to the
name of the fortunate groom,
and tnat it is owr old friend Jim
Goyen. This mistake is regret-
ted by us but Jim should have
told us.

County Surveyor elect G. W.
Haviland called in on the 5th. on
his way to Alva. Mr. Haviland
has just surveyed and platted
the new town of Russel on the
NEi Sec. 2 Twp 2 8 —Range 12.
So far as we know this is the
townsite to be platted on
nt road in this county,
4 between here and
E. Y. Crawford, who has boon
visiting relatives and friends in
Nobraska and Iowa, returned
home last Thursday, too late for
Thanksgiving dinner. Mr. C.
was in town on Monday and dur-
ing his call at this office gave an
account of his trip. Heleftiiere
three months ago travelling over-
land, accompanied by his wife.
They first visited at thoir old
home in Osborne county, Kans.,
and afterward journeyed thro'
Nebraska and into Iowa visiting
friends euroute. During their
absence they travelled 1800 miles
and visited 22 different families
of relatives besides numerous
other friends. Mr. C. reports a
very pleasant trip but he is glad
to get home and is better pleased
with Oklahoma than e<ver before
