Soma time last night, or early thia
morning, a bold burglarly was com-
mitted, and the New York Clothing
■tore robbed of a large amount of
clothiug. Entrance was efl'eated by
breaking one of the small pane* of
colored glass that ornament" the front
door Thia pane, near the lock, being
taken out anil the arm introduced, the
burglar wa* ' uisiderably enabled to
pull the bolt from the bottom of the
door on the inside, when, by pushing
the doors, the lock would press from
the socket and ingress he nfl'ected. The
robber made a generous selection of
such goods as he needed, and Mr,
Colien says that ho displayed good
judgment and taste. Colieti is proud to
be robbed by a man of taste. He says
the thief knew the kind of store to go
to when ho wanted good clothes and lie
considers the robbery quite a eompli- !
mont to his establishment, notwith-
standing that fact, however, he otters

thief.

splendidly rr«a#nto«l at the ilpam House.
The performance of Uncle Tom's
Cabin at the opera home last night was
an exceptionally good one. Ed Davis'
company is a remarkably strong one.
It is comprised of forty people and
among them are many excellent actors
who proved splendidly familiar with
the roll they assumed
The Hyres sisters are a great feature
and as Topsy they greatly pleased the
lars:e audience. The dogs are splendid-
ly trained, and Uncle Tom wan a de-
lightful character.
