feel tired, weary, worn-

FRIDAY, MARCH 17, 1911.
OUR BIRTHDAY.
This issue of the News closes
the third year of its. existance.
When we first started "The Lit-
tle Home 1' iper," it was ouly a
little -l-column sheet, with a very
limited urnonnt of advertising
patronage, and many >of the
wise ones shook their heads und
prophesied a short life for the
paper and a hard one for its
venturesome publisher. But it
wasn't Ion;* until we found it
necessary i o enlarge the size of
the sheet which we did, and
our (subscription, advertising,
and job work patronage cotinu-
ed to increase, and today we find
It necessary to print a supple
intiit nearly every week to ac
commodate our patrons and
give our readers the local news
Tne News makes no big-pre-
tentions—lias never claimed to
be anything but a local paper
giving the news of Fairland and
vicinity, and working for the
licitei nicut, advancement and
upbuilding of the town< and sur-
rounding couutry, but'it looks
now like we would soon have to
enlarge again. The only-prom
ise we made when we launched
the News was that we would give
our readers as good a paper as
our patronage would' justify,
and this we have tried to<io and
will continue to do.
We started without a 'Single
subscriber, and today the -News
is going into the best homes all
over the country, and* we- count
our subscribers by the hundreds.
We aie printing more papers to-
day than we ever have before,
and expect to greatly inerease
our subscription list during.the
comic" year.
We thank our patrons very
much for their liberal support
and patronage, and have rolled
our sleeves, took another
hitch-in our suspenders, and so
here goes for another year of
hard work boosting-Fairland
and vicinity.
Itinow. looks like we.. were- to
have a city council again. It is
to be hoped that we'll gttiu run-
ning order once more.
