The ladies of the Christian

at Vann's Hall next Monday
night. Badies are requested to
bring supper enongh i'cr two
and geutlemen the price.
The Epworth League's bis ex-
cursion on "A Trip Around tlie
World," is the talk of the town.
1'he fun will start from the begin-
ning and will get better further
on. There will be a plenty to eat
und drink, plenty of fun and jolly
good time for both old and
young. Will start from the
Met hodist church at 7:30 tomor
row night. Will arrive on return
trip about two hours latter.
Recovered Stolen Property.
Postmaster Weir this week re-
covered a part of his loss fiom
the recent post office robbery.
A large bill book containing
some deeds, insurance policies,
uotes, etc., was taken from the
safe at the time of the robbery,
and was found on last Wednes-
day near the railroad tracks at
Afton, where they had evidedtl.v
been thrown by the robbers.
.Joe was mighty proud to recov-
er the lost property.
Car Load of Newspapers.
The Baptist and Methodist
ladies of this place' have under-
taken the task of collecting a
car load of old newspapers, and
will sell them to some paper mill
and divide the profits between
the two denominations. Every,
body who will are requested to
save all their old papers, books,
magazines, etc., and the ladies
will be glad to call and get itiem.
Baptist Church Notes.
Rev. J. M. Payne of Springfield
Mo. will preajh for us next Wed-
nesday night.
The Sunday School attenduace
j last Sunday was 104, collection
1 $2.31, and 5 birthday offerings.
Rev, J. H. Hardy of Miami,
will preacn for us next Sunday
at 11 and at nighc. Rev. Hardy
is a good preacher and you
should hear him,
Some one evidently thought
we kept our Sunday School
money in that big tin box, as we
found it busted open last Sun-
day morning. Now please don't
do so any more for we never
leave any money in there and we
dislike to have our funiture des-
troyed.

on the varanda. Mr. Long

the corn crib.

from Bloomington, 111, where ha
had been to attend a big horse
sale. The Oolonpl purchase I two
flue registered thoroughbred
percheron stallions, which he
brought back with him, and will
ad to his heard of breeding stock
this season. They are dandies.
