Friar at Big Cabin.
Friends here received advises
yesterday from Evangelist Friar
that he had just closed a ten
day's meeting at Big Cabin, re-
sulting in fifty conversions. He
had not fully recovered from bisj
illness contracted while here and
was on his way home for a rest.
He sent rememberance to all his
Fairland friends.
Everything now ,points to a
big day in Fairland on Tuesday
of ne,xt week, when the Better
Seed and Live Stock , train from
the Agrieultural£Col,lege at Stil-
,water jyjll be with us to give us
the benefits ofitheir experiments
in the,growing of various farm
products and the growing of a
better line of live stock.
<Oi',course,it lis not expected
that,everybody will attempt to
car.ry out all the recommenda-
tions made by the college pro-
fessors, but there are none of us
so wise-but what we can learn
something from those who have
made these things a life stud y..
The people are paying the ex-
panse of this demonstration
tram., and if we do not take ad-
vantage of it, it is our own fault.
The rain will make its first ap-
peal anee in Ottawa oounty at
Miami at .9 o'clock. After giv-
ing a demonstration there, will
run to Afton, and from Afton,
to Fairland, arriving here at
11:43, for a 30 minute stay.
It is necessary that everybody
be at the depot when the train
arrives, as the lectures will begin
immediately upon the arrival oi
the train.
A number of our people expect
to meet the train at Miami and
accompany it on its trip through
the county.
Repoitsconie from all along
the line that great crowds are
meeting the train and are tak-
ing a great interest in the work,
and we believe the farmers of
this community are as progres-
sive as any. The Fairland pub-
lic schools, and some of the out
of town schools will be present
in a body to see aud hear. The
Fairland Band will furnish mu-
sic for the occasion.
