Bogus Bills
KANSAS CITY (AIM - Morn than $250,000 in coun-
terfeit $11), $20 and $50 bills have been seized in Missouri
and seven persons arrested.
Robert R. Lupham, agent in charge of thp Kansas
City Sorrel Service office, said three persons were ar-
rested Tuesday and $201.00*1 In bogus bills recovered at a
motel.
Arrested were I.oyd D. Warden. 37, president of
Warden Printing Service; Kugene V. Chuning. 40, and
Mrs. Maxcan N. Meier, 40, all of the Kansas City area.
Lapham disclosed thal Monday night four California
residents were arrested at Springfield and officers re-
covered about $36,710 in phony currency.
Me said the arrests were made by police after about
thirty S5(l and $20 bills were passed with merehanls.
The four persons charged at Springfield are identi-
fied as Gloria Stewart, 23, and Fred Harris, 45. bolh of
San Francisco, and James Woods, 46, and John Stewart.

from the Texas Panhandle to Minnesota. Nearly 2 inches

Winds up to 64 miles an hour lashed Wichita, Kan.,
and gusts nearly 50 miles an hour swept Manhattan,
Kan.
Tornadoes ■swiped at scattered portions of Texas
through Tuesday evening. Damage generally was light
and there were no reports of injuries.
Behind the storm front, temperatures plummeted
into the lower 20s across Montana just after midnight.
Readings in the lower 30s extended southward over Colo-
rado. Butte. Mont., registered 22 well before daybreak.
An isolated frontal system spilled rain over the Gulf
Coast ami eastward through Georgia.
