visitors to the second annual con-
ference of ttie Epworth league,
which convenes in our city next
Tuesday evening for a two days
session.
^'his will probably be the largest
gathering Konawa has ever exper-
ienced and our people haveopened
t.eeir homes to the visitors. So
leaguers—
Just make yourselves at home,
and when you leave us we are sure
you will depart feeling that a more
up-to-date town and a more ener-
getic hospitable people are not to
be found in all Oklahoma than in
Konawa.

Well, this "Indian war" of our'u
seems (o be o'er. After the smoke
of Imttle has cleared away we find
that two deputy sheriffs are the
Only ones dead. They were killed
by u gang of negro and mixed
blood Indian horse thieves they
were trying to arrest. Then the
Indians got a little restless and
Crazy Snake and the officers got
mixed up in the squabble and the
yellow newspapers—out of the
state papers, of course—made the
war. These papers printed t h e
"uews" of a horrible Indian war—
so many killed and wounded—and
artists, who possessed imaginative
minds of a hundred years behind
the times, drew stirring pictures
of the "massacre."
Oh, that Indian war in Oklyho-
my was awful, but instead of tak-
ing tlie sensational press reports,
take Colonel Llotl'man's report —
Two deputy sheriffs killed.
The war is over.

for the heating of the public school
building according to the plans and
specifications.
Plans and specifications may be seen
at the First National bank.
All bids must be accompanied by a
certified check approximately in the
amount of three per cent, of the bid,
made payable to the order of J. B.
Hammons, Clerk of the Board of Edu-
cation. The board reserves the right
to reject any and all bids, to waive any
informalities and to accept any bid at
t'leir discretion.

speakers at the National Epworth
league convention in Detroit,
Michigan some years ago, and few
men have a more intimate ac-
quaintance with the work of the
Epworth league than he.
The Methodist church is to be
beautifully decorated in the league
colors—old gold and white—in
honor of the occasion, while pic-
tures and wild flowers will add to
the beauty of the soene.

A special train of one coach, fill-
ed with Ada boosters, arrived here
at 9:45 Saturday morning to meet
Governor Haskell, who arrived in
Konawa at 10:30. The coach was
labeled "Ada Normal Special" and
was loaded to its limit by people
who are making Ada a bigger city.
Everybody unloaded and head-
ed by the Ada Military band,
marched up town where the band
rendered many beautiful selections
