Konawa's Last
Appeal
0
Neighbors, this is our last say. The election will be held Saturday, Septem=
ber 5 If some town receives a majority of all the votes cast, there will be no
second election. But such an outcome is an impossibility. Neither town
can hope to receive a majority of all the votes to be polled next Saturday. 1 He
Wewoka and Seminole managers say there will be a second election.
There will be not to exceed 2,200 votes cast in the county. If Wewoka or
Seminole =it makes no difference which-should receive 900 votes, Konawa 700
and the third town 600, Konawa will be in the second race. Konawa will get
more than 700 votes. There are 719 voters in Konawa township; there are as
many more south of the river outside of Konawa township. If the voters that
go to the polls in the south part of the county will line up for Konawa and their
own interests, our town will be hi^h in the first race. J he vote in the north
end will be about evenly divided between Wewoka and Seminole.
There is bound to be a second race. Vote for Konawa in this race- " we
should be third, you will then have a chance to vote for Seminole or Wewoka.
We appeal to you to vote for your own interests just the same as the farmers
around Seminole and Wewoka will do. We believe you will do it. We know
that you are now convinced that we went into this fight to win. With your
help we will win. ... i, i i +
You have nothing to gain by building up the other towns. You have a lot
to gain by building up Konawa.
It is your home town and the bigger
it gets the better market it is for you.
You cannot afford to haul your bale
of cotton to Konawa and then spend
one-fcurth of it in going to the county
seat. Any man who will ask you to do
so is not your friend and you know it.
You know the business men whose
names appear at the bottom of this
page. They are your friends. They
ask you in a friendly way to vote for
their town and your town. Will you
do it? We believe you will.
