Mrs. McKinley is Better And There
Are Grounds For Hope.
GOVERNOR NASH DISABLED.
San Francisco, May 20.—The physi-
cians were so favorably impressed
with Mrs. McKinley s condition that
they issued a bulletin and the reassur-
ing news was posted at all the news-
paper ottic?r and was received with
delight by the people.
The joy of the the president's heart
was reflected in his face, and one look
at his countenance was enough to dis-
pel immediate apprehension.
Hut it must not be assumed by this
that Mrs. McKinley has passed the
crisis and is out of danger. Mrs. Mc-
Kinley is seriously ill, and it will bo
at least 4* hours before the crisis has
l>eeu passed. Her vitality is so low
and she is so weak that a change for
the worse would not be unexpected at
any moment, and it is feared that she
would not have enough reserve
strength to weather another sinking
spell. Her mind was clear during her
waking moments today. She asked
for coffee, and also to be permitted to
wash her hands. There w as no neces-
for the administration of strong
heart stimulants during the day. al-
though brandy continues to !>e given
from time to time. That and beef tea
are practically all the nourishment
she takes.
Much of the program of the launch-
ing of the battleship Ohio was curtail-
ed.
Governor Nash of Ohio, remains in a
bad plight. While he is much better,
his eyes are so swollen from the
poisoned oak which he encountered
during his visit to the big trees at
iSanta Cruz that his physicians do not
think it would be wise for him to go
out into the sunlight and open air. His
only danger is in catching cold.

Ehowlus Littleness* or <ireatnr*s.
Little things often measure or mar
greatness. This is so in both direc-
tions, and at many times. The dis-
closure may be made unexpectedly, and
it has to be reckoned with when it
comes. In considering ti i« fact one
should remember that it is harder to
be great in little things than to show
littleness in great things. Yet both of
y these are possible, and we are liable at
any time to disclose our

ment :
"J had Diabetes with all Its worst
symptoms. I applied every remedy
known to the profession, as well as
every prescription suggested In our
•books. In spite of all, 1 was dying,
and 1 knew it.
"As a last resort, and with scarce-
ly any faith whatever, I commenced
taking Dodcl^s Kidney Pills. In one
week I saw a great improvement. After
I had taken five boxes, 1 was sound
and well. This Is ten months ago,
and I have not taken any medicine of
any kind since and am convinced that
my cure is a permanent one.
"As a practicing physician with
years of experience, I mo?t positively
assert that Dodds Kidney Pills are the
best medicine in the world today, for
Diabetes or any other Kidney Disease.
Since using them mv-elf, I have used
them in many cases in my practice,
and they have never failed.
"I am making this statement as a
professional man. after having made a
most thorough test of Dodd's Kidney
Pills, and because I feel it my duty to
the public and to my professional
brethren. The truth tan never hurt
anyone, and what I have said is the
absolute truth."
R. II. Dl'NAWAY, M. D.
It is no wonder that the public are
enthusiastic over this new medicine,
when our leading physicians them-
selves. are being won over to its use.
