Christmas Entertainments.
Christmas wasurshed in bv appropiato
e xercises by the various Sunday schools,
Monday evening. The weathor was nice
and balmy—an ideal evening for the lit-
tle folk. All the churches were made
beautiful to behold by the elaborate dec-
orations.
The Christian church had a nice tree
loaded with presents for the litte folks
1 he decoration was in harmony and ap-
propriate for the occasion. The chil-
dren of the Sunday school, assisted by
the seniors, rendered an interesting
program.
'I ho First M. E. church had a large
arch with sido extensions, as woll as a
tree, loaded with gifts for all the little
people. The decorations wore elaborate
and extensive. The program was in-
structive and well rendered. The house
was crowded to its full capacity with ti
happy people.
At the Baptist church there was an im-

Clar-
Grover Cleveland, the man who the
great Democratic party of the United
states placed confidence in and gave the
highest office that can be given to man.
has given his opinion as to how the Dem-
ocratic party should be reorganized. The
republican editors are falling over each
other in order to bo the first to give it

whatever Mr. Cleveland or any of his
tripe say on this subject that the Demo-
crats should not pursue the course map-
ped out by him, but get away as rar a,

and sells for a cent and a half less than
white cotton. Cotton growers should
select their seed and strive to secure on-

tendency toward early maturity. -King-

John \\ annamaker's advertising man,
who pays out over a hundred thousand
dollars a year for advertising, has figur-
ed out that 8t per cent of the firms that
have failed in the United States in the
las! threo years didn't advertise, and
half the remainder advertised spasmod-
ically. We hope that our business men
will take a gentle hint and start the
new year right by advertising judicious-
ly in the Press Democrat.
Says Governor Barnes: "I never saw
a community where interest was paid as
promply as in this country, and Ihe rea-
son for it lies in the fact that a diversity
of crops can be raised here in a season
on any one farm. This diversity of crops
is the real secret of the prosperity of the
farmers of Oklahama. Many a ' farmer
has harvested a bountiful crop of wheat,
corn, cotton, oats and three crops of al-
falfa hay here in one sea,011."
