Governor's Proclamation.
While Natnre with a lavish hand has
bestowed beauty and variety to our
landscape and blessed many parts of
our territory with luxnrent forests,
there are yet many localities where a
greater abundance of trees would add
both to the utility and beauty of ths
landscape and it is but becoming that a
public sentiment favorable to the pre-
serving of our forests and the planting
of trees and shrubs be cultivated.
"Now therefore, I. C. M. Barnes,
governor of the Territory of Oklahoma
in accordance with the custom now pre
valetit in a majority of the States of
the Union, do hereby appoint Tuesday,
April 5th., to beobseryed as Arbor Day
"I recommend that the day be ob-
served in planting trees, shrubs and
vines, in the adornment of public and
private grounds, parks and ways; thus
rendering the homes of our people and
the soenery of our oommonwoaith more
beautiful and attractive.
•'May there be a unity of purposo and
feeling in the observation of tha day,
and may it be made a festal day in the
schools of the territory with the plant-
ing of trees and carrying out of exir-
cises of such character us will impn -s
the beneficent object on the minds of
the pupils.
"In testimony whereof, I have here-
unto sot my hand and caused the great
t-tal of the Territory to be affixed this
16'h. day of March, A. D- 1898.''

Consumption Cured.
BROUGHT HACK FROM THE GRAVE
I,a .t November Mr. Joseph James,
painter, of 325 W. Pearl St , Indianapo-
lis', Iud., was at death's door with quick
consumption. Wasted to a skeleton;
liia luti^s a mass of ulceration; his.;
death was hourly awaited by his doctoi
and family. He was kept in a constan!
■ tHpor with opium. A friend, thinking
to relieve bis terrible cough, gave him a
bottle of Brazilian Balm. Seeing iu
wonderful effect, the doctor advised its
continued use. Mr. James soon after
dismissed his doctor, and depended
on the Balm alone. Kis recovery wv.r
rapid and complete, and in February he
returned to work. His lungs are sound,
and his weight greater than at any lime
in his life. His recovery is regarded us
almost a miracle.
comma bacillus.
In consumption beware of cough mix-
tures and prescriptions that contain
opium. Opium paralizes the nerves,
and gives the comma bacillus a good
chance to destroy the lungs. It is
always fatal. Brazilian Balm does not
contain a trace of any opiate, but stimu-
lates the nerves with new lifcaud power,
destroys the microbe, and restores all
that is left of the diseased lungs to a
iound and healthy state which no other
remedy has ever been known to accom-
plish.

finally terminated in Consumption. Four doc.
