Rev Father Felix DeGrasse has'
been elected abbot of the. Sacred
Heart abbey, of the Benedictine
monks to fill the vacancy caused by
the death o'f Rev. Abbott Thomas
Dupe'von at Paris, France. ' '
Father DeGrasse has been among
the .Indians for' many years and
has built many churches and
schools.
I iie Wichita Beacon has this to
say of his ancestry:
"Although his calling is essen-
tially one of peace, he comes from
good fighting stock, being a grand
nephew of the renowned Count De
Crasse of revolutionary fame, who
did much for the cause of Ameri-
can independence."
Father DeGrasse informs us that
ho will remain in Shawnee until
Faster and will then proceed to his
new field of labor.
We are glad of his promotion,
l,ut sorrv that Shawnee is to lost)
so worthy and so able a pastor.
