If doctors' carriages in the country
had distinguishing lights, so that poo-

Hebe and there pure food advocates
Mrs. Korer among them, arc injuring
their cause by urging tho uselessness
of the potato as an article of food.
They are attacking a staple that more
than J00 years of constant use have
vindicated. They arc declaring that
this delicious tuber lias no nourish-
ing qualities about, it, when it lias
constituted almost the solo food of
many hardy people in Southern Ire-
land for generations. If tho bettor-
food advocates are to waste their en-

can they tie expected to accomplish
when they attack some article that is
really pernicious.
