Beginning with this issue, the Re-
publican offers a series of cartoons,
featuring matters of human Interest
and topics of the day.
Locust Grove has a live set of
boosters. Tile business men of that
town raised $150 to get the "flying
circus” to come there for two days
this week. The stunt was worth a
whole lot more to the town than It
cost. We'd like to see Pryor pull ofT
some thing of this nature for the
pleasure of the people who come here
to trade.
Country publishers throughout t.ie
country have been receiving from the
War Department, medals “made from
raptured German cannon." in appre-
ciation of their services in the wat
work. The fact that German cannon
are made of dark heavy metal where
as the medals are shiny and light
does not discourage a certain Kansas
editor, who declares that he likes to
carry the medal in ills pocket be
cause it looks so much like a half
dollar.
