CARTER. BECKHAM COUNTY, OKLAHOMA. FRIDAY, FEB. 29, 1924.
GEO. W. CAIN. EDITOR.
Looking good never counts ai
much as making good.
Some people postpone Opening
a bank account until ‘‘the sign
is right”. The better way would
"be to open the account first;
then the ‘ SIGN WILL GET
RIGHT”.
Your yesterdays have all faded
into the land of the setting sun.
Hadn’t vou better make good
use of today before IT becomes a
‘ has-been” too?
Any dealings with YOU will be
in line with that principle.

While it is clear to everybody
that the Carter boys will have to
do some mighty good pla.v ing to
win out down there still we
know that the boys are capable
of just that very thing so we are
cannot help from believing that
they have a real good chance of
carrying off the honors. If
they should fail to win, which of
course is not impossible, we
still make the prediction that the
team that beats them will realize
that they have been in a basket
ball game.

The Beckham County Inter-
scholastic Basket Ball Tour-
nament for 1921 has pass-
ed into history. Friday and
Saturday were big days for Car-
ter in different ways. It was the
first time that our school had
been honored by the County
Tournament being held here and
which brought large crowds of
visitors to our city during the
two days and nights that the
contests were taking place. But
the best part of the occassion for
Carter was that both of our boy’s
teams won first honors in the
finals on Saturday night, both
teams being awarded silver lov-
ing cups. In the girls’ contest
Erick won out in finals in Class
‘‘A’’ and Elk City in Class “B”.
and New Liberty Class ”A’’ girls
in which game Carter won.
The night session opened with a
by game between Highway and
Erick Class “A” girls, which
was followed by a game between
Carter and Highway Class “A”
boys. H gliway forfeiting the
game at the beginning of the
second half. The closing game
for Friday was played between
New Liberty and Erick, Class
“A” Erick winning.
The only final game that was
played before Saturday night
was the game between Delhi and
Elk City Class ”B” girls in
which Elk City won as above
mentioned. At night the first
game was between Carter and
Highway boys in Class ”B”,
the Carter boys winning the cup
in this con'-tst. Second the Delhi
and Erick girls in Class ”A’
in which Erick won the honors.

Twe Sld»« of Body Don't Match.
The human body la not built
eynmietrloally. One-half of the face ll
not exactly like the other half. If a
line la drawn separating the two
halves of the physique, well-mnrked
differences nmy be noticed between
them. The sculptors of Classic times
recognised this anomaly, and repre-
sented It In yielr statues.
Venus of Milo, for example, has an
asymmetrical face, that Is, one In which
proportions are not consistent. Moo*
■ persons have heavier bones on the
right side than the left. The two sides
of the face vary. The eye sockets In
both face und skull are of different
! size. The face usually seems to be
shoved over toward the right side.
The ears are usually of different size
and differently modelled. The shoul-
ders are not of the same height, and
are removed varying distances from

through the center of the body.
