air is full of rumors concerning the
disturbance on the Mexican border,
but It is absolutely impossible to ver-
ify any reports. The revolutionists in
this town and Juarez say positively
that Corralitos has been taken, but
the Corralitos company's agent here
has heard nothing of it.
Fifteen of the lynchers of Tom Nel-
son, who found death at the hands of
amok by rope^ bullets, and fire, at
Vernon, Ark., have been arrested.
Nancy Hawkins, the leader, and Steve
llawslcy are among those arrested.
Hawkins resisted and was shot by the
officers, which has almost caused a
riot. Excitement is running high at
Vernon. The parties are all colored.
At Cedar Kapids, la., arguments
were heard by Judge Preston on the
demurrer to the indictment against
I). (■. Ramsey, grand chief of the Or-
der of Railway Telegraphers. It was
overruled mid Ramsey will have to
stand trial. The indictment charges
interfering with the telegraph wires
of the Iturlingtou, Cedar Kapids A-
Northern road, at the time of the
strike last fall.
A Liverpool dispatch says tho gale
continues and the reports which ar-
rive here after many hours' delay, ow-
ing to tlie breakdown of the tele-
graph wires, indicate that an im-
mense amount of damage has been
done to shipping throughout the
country. The steamer I’nion was
wrecked near Dundee and four of her
crew were drowned.
Considerable excitement was caused
at the patent office building Saturday
morning by the antics of a crank who
appeared at. one of the entrances as a
score or more clerks were entering
the building, lie shouted incoherent-
ly, waved a piece of I'nited States flag
and muttered to himself unintelligi-
bly. Some of the women clerks were
badly frightened and notified a watch-
man. hut before the latter had
readied the entrance the man had
disappeared.
Mrs. Robert A, Ellis, daughter of
tlie late Judge lfurbank, of Maui
island, of the Hawaiian group of
islands, died in Green Hay, Wis., Sat-
urday evening. She was a daughter
of cx-Attorney General Hurbank, of
Providence, R. I.
Two detectives now guard the home
of II. N. Higinbotham. president of
the world's fair. Two suspicious men
have been loitering in the vicinity of
the president’s residence, and fears of
cranks caused Mr. Higinbotham to
ask for police protection.
Louis McPherson, who has been

Valley, Neb., was found Sunday

man named Oliver Dale, who has

commissioner of Indian affairs, has
been informed that quite a party of
whites have entered the rncompali-

pect for gold, and the agent of the In-
dians who forwarded the information

inquiry General Armstrong replied,
instructing the agent to promptly re-
move the intruders, lie says the
whites have no more right to enter
the Indian reservation and prospect

what he finds there, and that in all in-
stances when the department is ad-
vised of such trespass the interlopers
will be promptly removed.

utes of Oklahoma for 1893, require
that all druggists, apothecaries, and
other persons, ^excepting practicing

class usulaly known as poisons, and
prescribe a penalty for each violation
of a fine of not less than 820 nor more
than 8100. It is said that few drug-
gists in Oklahoma are observing the
