Mrs. Homer Barrett and
little daughter of Oklahoma City
are visiting this week at the
home of her parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Montgomery.
The next regular sessioh of
the Beckham County Singing
Convention will be held in the
Merritt Church next Saturday
night and all day Sunday, July
28th and 29th. The good citizens
of Merritt are capable entertain-
ers and gurrantee p'enty to eat,
shade and ice water, and it is
expected that this will be the
best we have ever held. You
are invited.

Mrs. C. Z. Cupp and children
of Erick came over last Friday
and visited over Sunday with
her sister, Mrs. F. B. Satter-
white.
County Commissioner J. F.
Lewis had a lot of the large
rocks blown out of the public
road just east of the S. M. Erwin
place southwest of town last
week. It sure makes a big dif-
ference in the road along there.

Quite a number of the citizens
in and around Carter went up to
Doxey Saturday to attend the
Farmers Union picnic. A nice
shower had fallen the previous
night consequently the roads
were not so dusty and a very en-
joyable time is reported.

Whild over at Sayre last Fri-
day the EXPRESS editor, wife
and daughter, Lillian, drove a-
round and gave the once over
to the beautiful home of Clarence
Bagget, now under construction
in that city. Mr. Cecil Summers
of Carter who has charge of the
work showed us through the
building, one of the prettiest new
bungalows in Sayre. It is a
large residence and is being
finished with all of the modern
conveniences needed and will
certainly make Mr. Bagget a
beau.iful home.
Less McDonald and wife who
have been living at Oklahoma
City for some time have return-
ed to Carter.
Quite a number of our sub-
scribers have renewed their sub-
criptions lately and at the same
time are adding new names a-
long. We hope others whose
subscriptions have expired will
send or bring in their renewals
as early as possible.
