cashier of the New State Bank at
Woodward, which closed Oct. 13th
wrs araested and brought before
Judge King of the county court
Tuesday. There is seven specific
charges against Lobaugh, four of
grard larceny, two of receiving
deposits after the bmk was insol-

loan.
A change of venue was granted
to hold the preliminary hearing
before the Mooreland Justice of
the Peace, the date not yet being
not yet fixed. Bonds for Lo-
baughs' appearance total $10,000.
Jim Litz was here from Buffalo
on Tuesday visiting with old time
friends. I-ast week he was re-en-
gaged as manager of the Farmers
Elevator at Buffalo.
i George Crider and wife, started
last Tuesday for New Mexico,
i They are going to spend some
time looking the country over and
if they find a location may build a
i home there. We wish them good
luck. # They had a very com St-
able car to travel in and will make
good time.
J. R. King, who has been ab-
sent from here since early last fall
' has returned with his family and
gone onto the farm vacated by
George Crider, about three miles
east of Kibby comer.
Dick Cooper is threshing the
wheat on the laud farmed by
Lowman and Tatro. The heavy
rains of last Sept, and Oct. com-
menced before they got it threshed
and they have waited for it to
dry out.
Milo Clem anl family were at
Kibby Friday evening, trading at
our Kibby Store. v
HE WAS HEAVILY FINED.
An American motoring through a
small Scottish town was pulled up
for excessive speed.
“Didn't you see that notice, ‘Dead
Slow’?” asked the policeman.
“Of course 1 did,” said the Amer-
ican, “but I thought it meant your
town!”
ODD FELLOW
YOUTH; NOT SOLID IVORY
Edna (aged five)—Papa bought
me a fancy goldfish. He paid a dol-
lar for it.
Charles (aged five)—Huh! It
might he plated. He couldn’t get a
solid gold one for a dollar!
Guy—Waters has an odd case of
absent-mindedness.
Girl—Really ?
Guy—Yes, he's just hack from a
motorboat cruise, and the other
night he sat down in the hath and
hailed it out until the whole floor
was flooded.—New York Sun.
KIBBY ITEMS
For two weeks past I have wait-
ed until Monday to mail my lette
to you, but Kibby and Supply
might as well be living in the days
of the old stage coach so far as U.
S. Mail is concerned. A sixty-
minute drive with modern motor
bue will unite the two places, but
more than sixty-hours are con-
sumed in getting mail by regular
service from here to there, and
but little better in getting mail
from Supply here. Then they
say “We are unfortunate in our
location.”
On Monday of this week the
•chicken show was well attended
and some nice birds shown. Co.
* Agent Martin, Demonstrator Miss
Hesbig, Mrs. Roberts, Co. Supt.;
an! W. D. Drake were present
and passed judgement on stock.
The chickens were brought in by
the boys’ and girls’ club of this
vicinity. Mrs. Alice Lewis brot
her school or at least part of them
with her and also some of her
Scholars brought coops, and some
of them carried off prizes.
On Tuesday of this week in the
eoyote drive north of Kibby three
coyotei were caught in the first
drive. Then a second, smaller
circle was formed further east and
three more caught. We did not
learn how many rabbits were
caught.
Rev. Combs of Tangier is hold-
ing meetings here this week, con-
siderable interest is shown.
Thursday night of this week,
the Kibby district was represented
at Supply in a spelling match.
It was reported to us that we’uns
beat you’uns.
