London - The forts at the entrance
of the Dardanelles have been levelled
before the attack of a combined Anglo-
French fleet. The Turkish capital has
been removed to Broussa, In Asia
Minor, and the fall of Constantinople,
over which the Slur and Crescent has
waved for four and a half centuries, is
a matter of days and hours.
The allies report only one Turkish
shell hitting a ship and this killed
three men.
The new battleship Queen Elizabeth,
one of 1he largest members of the

armed as follows:
"A—Two 9.2 guns.

men and seriously wounding five. The
Irriststlhle and Gaulois made excel-

tho Queen Elizabeth concentrated
with great accuracy on fort A. putting
both of Its guns out of action by about
11:30 a. m.
“The Vengeance nnd Cornwallis
then ran in under cover of long range
fire and engaged fort A at close range.
The reduction of fort A was com-

London —The German blockade of
the British Isles has been in effect
for a week with the result that, so
far as known, two Norwegian, one
French and five British steamer? have
been sunk or torpodoed by subma-
rines, with the surprisingly small loss
of four lives. Two of these steamers
—the Belridge and the Dlnorah—suc-
ceeded in reaching port.
On the other side of the account It
13 reported that two German subma-
rines are missing and that a third
bed been hit and possibly sunk by a
French destroyer.
Besides the vessels which fell vic-
tims to the submarines, two Amer-
ican and one Norwegian steamer
have been sunk by mines in the North
Sea. It is feared one or two British
steamers have been lost, as they are
several days overdue.
The blockade, however, has had the
effect of increasing insurance rates
and some neutral owners are keeping
their ships in neutral waters.
In addition to the loss of the mer
chantmen. the British admiralty has
been Impelled to give up hope for

New York.—The discovery of an an
irchistlc plot Involving the assassi
latlon of Andrew Carnegie, Cornelius
Vanderbilt, John I). Rockefeller, his
ion, and other wealthy men, and the
yrganlzatlon of a reign of terror and
ooting in this city was announced by
he police after they had arrested, un
ler dramatic circumstances, a mau
who had just placed two bombs in St
I'atrlck’s cathedral where several bun
Jred persons were worshiping.
The arrests were the climax ol
months of work by detectives in un
covering a conspiracy, which they de
dare projected the opening of a cam
palgn of violence and bloodshed with
)Ut precedent in New York City. So
■arefully had the police worked out
their plans that the anarchist was even
illowed to light the fuse of one of the
bombs which he carried into the cathe
iral despite the fact that the explo
dves were powerful enough to have
latnaged the edifice badly and possibly
killed many in It. Scarcely had the
bomb carrier ignited the fuse when
one of a half hundred disguised detec
lives who were standing in and about
the church crushed the sputtering
thread under his heel and in anothet
moment the plotter was taken Into cus
tody just as he was about to light the
fuse of the other destructive lnstru
inent.
Frank Abarno was the name giver
by the man who placed the bombs in
the cathedral. Later Charles Carbone
an 18-year-old youth, was arrested al
him home as the actual manufacturer
of the explosives. Still others were
implicated in the plot, in the belief ol
the police and more arrests are ex
pected In the near future. Both Abamc
and Carbone admitte ’ their part in thf
conspiracy, the carrying out of whict
was to have been started with the at-
tempted destruction of the cathedral
The men arrested, however, assumed
all responsibility, denying that anyone
else was involved.
Abarno and Carbone are members oi
the Bresci group of anarchists In thlt
city, who take their name from Gaet
ano Bresci, assassin of King Humbert
of Italy. According to the police the
plot to blow up the cathedral and fol
low this with attacks on wealthy men
was conceived early in February.
The plans of the conspirators mis
carried because a young policeman
Emilio Pelignani joined in the plot as
an avowed anarchist and for several
weeks kept the police informed ol
the movements of his companions
Polignani was arrested in the cathedral
with the men who plied the bomb but
this was only in accordance with the
prearranged plan of his superiors.
The two men were taken to polico
headquarters where shortly afterwards
they were joined by Carbone who had
been arrested In the meantime. Th(
two plotters and Polignani were pul
through a searching examination. Sc
far as Abarno and Carbone knew, Polig
naui was as deeply involved as they.

At this time I had a serious female

I seemed to Improve after (he use

and got back my natural state of
