There is probably not a city in
the nation that may now boast
of a higher average scholarship
among her teachers than Bartles*
ville.
Pupils may the ensuing year
take their choice ol an hnglish
or Commercial course or Latin
course, in the High school. Ap-l
paratus for chemistry and botany ,
teaching will be added tor the
next term. The school added a
physics labratory la>t term.
History will be taught by the |
library method.
The board has selected a site
in Armstrong addition, of one-
half block, and will place a build-
ing thereon, but it may be that a
temporary four room house will
be decided upon. A lot is now-
under‘.consideration west of the
railroad tracks, and if purchased
a two room building will be erect-
ed for present use. Two more
rooms will also be added to the
old school building, situated on
the high school grounds, which
will make a total of eight rooms
to the present capacity.
This is thought will be ample,
for this year at least, and next
year buildings will be erected
with a view of permanency
der lot this week. This well is
located in the east part of town.

Athletic Park Snuday after-
noon held a large crowd to wit-
ness the game between Bartles-

Kansas League, which resulted in
a score of f» to '» in tavor of the
visitors.
Saturdays game between the
two teams, was won by the home
team which leaves them in the
yositon of an even break The
tesult of Saturdays play was a
score of ‘1 to 8.
A large number of people at-
tended the game yesterday after-
noon from towns in Kansas,
as the “Katy” run an excursion
train, and the Santa Fe, sold tick-
ets to Bartlesville at excursion
rates on regular trains, the game
was interesting, but the kicking
and “rag chewing” exhibitions
being given at almost every game
recently is getting “rank” and
the patrons would feel pleased if
it was cut out, and Bartlesville
team would get dow-n to work.
