Toptvica, July J0.~State Auditor Seth
Wells has under consideration a plan
to deprive state boardh and other em-
ploye* from drawing mileage while
riding ou paaaes. Quite a uumber of
MilKmliuute ortit*iais draw mileage in
this manner. They include it in their
expense accounts and swear that it is
correct, due and remains tin paid. The
state auditor in the past has taken
an exhibition, liecuuse of lack of facil- j their affidavit for it. As long as they
ities. The entire exposition grounds ! swear that un account is correct, dae
would hardly be sufficient to show off
properly a drove of Texas longhorns, |
for instance. The range men said they
could not make a showing any other
way, und the controversy was carried
to the exposition managers, who sus-
tained Mr. Coburn s view of the mat-
ter.
Tile range men feci that there is a
discrimination against their kind of
stock. Possibly there will be a meet-
ing of range men in Kansas City to
discuss plans for an exhibit, in which
event Air. Coburn will lie invited to at-
tend.
It is said that there is a piece of
ground ndt far from the exposition
tract which would be sufficient for a
limited number of range cattle. The
range men want to lease it and then
ask Mr. Coburn to include their ex-
hibit in the general show.
