will have speed thrills galore, the
three final days,of the Washington
county free fair, October 7. 8 and 9,
coshes with the announcement of en-
tries already receded from six of the
foremost dirt track drivers in Amer-
ica. Keen rivalry which has sprung
up among auto race drivers this year
may be partially decided ou the Dew-
ey track, during this big three day
meet. Several drivers who are known
to have been considered, the leaders
in the section from which they hail,
.win light it out for honors on me Dew-
ey track.
Duke O'Hara is a favorite on the
west coast. Near ibis home at Santa
Monica, California, he is considered
the peer of all the dirt track driivers.
but he had beatjook to his laurels
when he entera the Dewey meet, as he
will encounter some of the oldest
pilots In dirt track, racing.
John Boyd, “a native" sometimes
dubbed the “Dixie Demon” is the
leading exponent of speed on wheels
from the south an^ his popularity In
bs home state is great
Loui Sckeibel, is an Iowa product
and a favorite at Des Moines, where
he has won signal honors on the great
western dirt oval. Schiebel will pilot
his special built racing job, the Chalm-
ers special.
Harry Davies of Kansas City Is Mis-
souri Valley dirt track champion', hav-
Tug won most of his honors in the Jay-
hawker state. Davies speed Is not so
much, but his car has the reputation
of being the fastest small car In its
class. It is the Rajo special, built and
designed for the Kansas City speed
pilot by Jos Jagersberger or Milwauk-
ee, the pioneer of all race car build-
ers.
O’Hara, Scheibel and Davies are
