Once we became the proud
possessor of a cow, having ans-
wered an ad in the paper.
The cow was all the owner
claimed for her and more.
She poured down the milk but
all of a sudden with a swiftness
and force which passeth all
understanding during our first
milking; she swung her right
hind leg in the air and in the
direction of the milker just
missing him by a hair’s breath.
If their had not been a strap
handy to tie around her legs,
she would have remained un-
xnilkcd. That same cow res-
ponds to kind treatment. Now
she never kicks, her present
owner refusing $90 for her a
few days ago, but if he had

lunge with her hind foot doubt-
less hewould never owned the
cow. However when • a cow
has been a kicker for a long
time she becomes a chronic.
Then if you believe in "Safety
First” treat her kindly but strap
her legs.

An Oklahoma City man,
states that thousands of bush-
els of apples in Oklahoma
would be fed to hogs. ' In
driving to Harrah from the
City we notice one farmer who
was busy making cider out of
his apples. Why do not more
apples raises follow this mans
example? Apple cider, and
. apple vinegar ate always in
demand and it beats feeding
apples to hogs.

not only one that can do a largo day's
work, but one that will do It on a
minimum of feed. A case in point:
We have In one of our teams a pure-
bred Percheron mare of 1,900 pounds.
Her team mate, carrying a large
percentage of the blood of another pop-
ular breed, weighs about the same.
These two mares do exaytly the
same work, have the same attention
and yet the grade mare eats 20 per
cent more feed daily than does the
purebred Percheron. Even then she
Is not in the condition of her mate.
While tha Percheron is smooth, and
In fine condition, the other Is thin and,

Surely here is a subject worthy of
sn from the same breed. If chosen ; consideration by the intending pur-
from another breed disturbing factors
are inevitable. Thin may not be ap-
parent at the first, but it will later.
The antagonism likely to result cannot
be explained here, lly adhering to
this line of breeding the improvement
should be vapid and continuous at
least for several generations, but the
improvement, will be less noticeable
with each succeeding generation.
Eating the Flesh of the Son of Men.
The Pastor explained In detail oar
Lord's words, “Except ye eat the flesh
of the Son of Man and drink Ills blood,
ye have no life In you." (John G:tiS4
Father Adam's life was forfeited be-
cause of liis disobedience; and ail his
children thus lost their right to life.
Our Lord gave His flesh. Ills human
nature, for Adam aud all of his fam-
ily. Ho laid down Ills flesh la order
that the Adamic race might have the
right to earthly existence. Jesus’ new
life is not earthly, not fleshly; He has
a spirit body now. (1 Peter 3:18.)
Therefote He has His fleshly life to
give to the world. Never having for-
feited His human life, He still lias the
right to It. But now, glorified-on the
spirit plane, He will give the merit of
His human life to Adam and his race
at the end of the Gospel Age.
There Is a difference between laying
Hfe down and giving It Our'Lord has
undertaken to give Ilis'human nature
