Mr R H Pickerel! brought to
to the Advanca office samples
of Maccaroni wheat both thrash-
ed and in the head.
It was grown bv his sbn-iri-ldw
E L Martin, near Lone Wolf, who
ad about 400 bushels.
It yielded 21 1-2 bushels per
acre.
Maccaroni wheat is rdre in
Oklahoma, but in the Dakotas
it has been grown for years.
! It was brought from Russia by
Germans settling in the wset.
In Russia it is grown exten-
sively and and is now recognized
one ot the important crops
thioughout the drier parts of the
[northwest because it can be
[grown with less rainfall than any
oth&r wheat,
At first the mills refused to
buy it because it requires differ-
ent treatment and could not be
1 mixed with other wheat, but the
fanners kept raising it and final-
ly the Go varment got interested
and took up the matter with the
millers and now it has a ragUlar
sale.

M. ROBINSON, Rocky
ripens later than winter wheat.
We understand that several of
our farmers expect to give it a
trial next spring.
We would not be surprised to
find it a valuable grain for Okla-
homa.
The sampjes can be seen at the
Advance office.
There is nothing too good for
Rocky, and she shall have a bak-
ery. Capacity, 100 hot loaves
per day.
