THE CASEREER-RICKEY
GRAIN CO.
Rocky people have a way o
quietly going about their busi
ness and doing things withou;
saying much about it.
In several instances, the
Advance has learned of__
enterprises only when the parties
thereto, came to get their station-
ery printed.
Last week we had a case o_
this kind, when Mr.J.F. Brown
came in and ordered his station-
ery for the cotton and grain busi-
ness, this week wo another, when
we were called on to get a rush
order of fancy letter paper for
the Casebeer-Rickey Grain Co.
of Rocky.
From these letter heads we ob-
serve that this institution is es-
tablished at two points already
and Wfe understand expetts to
buy at ofte or two points besides.
The main office of the com-
pany is at Rocky, where the busi
ness is managed by Mr. J, T.
Harness,
Mr, C, G, Casebeer, formerly
Agent of fhe Frisco at Rocky has
charge of the business at Canute
Our Absent Friends.
The Non-resint Members
Of The Advance Family.
We doubt whether any paper
ever published in Oklahoma had
so large a list of non-resident
subscribers as the Advance has
at he same age, except perhaps
in cases where one or two parties
or firms placed a large bulk of
subscriptions to start a paperi
In the case qf the Advance
that was not done, and yet we
find that at the end of the first
two months, our outside list runs
over the hundred mark, and
every one who subscribed and
paid for by somebody in Rocky
or vicinity, in addition to his or
her own subscription.
These subscriptions represent
so many tokens of personal
friendship and esteem and the
Advance has a high regard no;
only for those who dend them
lut for those who recieve them.
Since coming to Rocky we
lave become well acquainted
with the people and want to say
without flattery; that we do not
lelieve a better class of people
can be found anywhere than
;ho'se in this community, and as
a man can be judged by the sort
of friends he has we Conclude
that the part of the Advance

of Oklahoma City, had the fol-

“L.L. Klinefelter launched the
Advance at Rocky. Besides be-
ing a town‘boomer the publisher
appreciates things agricultural
as evidenced by his description
of a drive into the country as fol-
lows. We passed by miles alul
miles of billowy Wheat fields and
along the fields of khee-high
corn whose long, clean t rows
stretched t<l the horizon-like
bands of emerald, With now a
field of heading bats, and now a
soft green carpet of alfalfa, orch-
ards loaded tb the breaking
point with apples,peaches, plums
pears,cherries,and apricots, with
glimpses of the comfortable
’arm-stead beyond all combin-
ing to make a picture of surpass-
