A Dinner for Barnes
In the bale of dope received
one day from prlss agents, I
found the following interesting
paragraph:
Invitations have been issued
fer the dinner to be given by the
business men of the Uunited
States in honor of Julius H.
Barnes on Thursday.evening,
April 22, at the Hotel Commo-
dore, New York City. It will be
the occasion of a testimonial to
Mr. Barne’s extraordinary serv-
ice to the country during the
war and since the armistice as
president of the Food Adminis-
tration Grain Corporation, pres-
ident of the U. S. Grain Corp-
oration, and U. S. Wheat Dir-
1 ector. It will be attended by
prominent lawyers, bankers, ed-
itors, publishers, insurance men,
merchants, paper and rug manu-
factures, and officials of steam-
ship and shipbuilding compan*
ies from all over the country.
Take note of the fact that
farmers, who raised the wheat
which Barnes administered to
the satisfaction of nearly every-
body $|pe, are not expected to be
there.—Okla. Farmer.

it is too late to decide you do nofwant it
Our local dealers would not think of
demanding the full price before show-
^fcig goods. Yet thatiswhat is required
when you buy by matt.
