Senator Owen’s Bill.
We notice that very few papers
in Oklahoma are fighting Senator
Owen’s bill to make the U. S.
supreme court be good. If the
members of our legislature wou
interview the people back home,
they wou d find that nine-tenths
of the vot-rs are with Senator
Owens. Most lawyer? and real
politicians are furnish the movt

made bv the i*p escntativos* the
people send to make the lau?
The people don’t believe aad ytu
can’t make them agree that nine
men sitting on the supreme bench
in Washington know more what
is to their interest than they do.
Let the people rule in fact.
It is not the Leader’s intention
to be unfair or partisan in any
matter, especially where the life
and liberty of anybody is con-
cerned. It aims to tell the truth,
the whole truth and nothing but
the truth. If it hurts-why it’s
generally the fault of the man
it hurts. Don’t “squeal unless
you are stuck.
When a woman combs her hair
in two ropes, holds one of the
ropes in her mouth, while she home,
winds the other on her tuck
comb, and then finds she has lost
her last hair pin, she leels the
reed of two mouths-one to hole
the hair in and the other to make
a few remaiks- -that we can t
print.
A six-mule Missouri team was
recently run into by a train. The
wagon was knocked into kindling
wood, the driver jumped from
the saddle mule and was saved,
the engine was knocked from the
track, but we didn’t learn wheth-
er the mules kicked the head off
the engineer and fireman or not.
The mules came out all right,
except one ot the mules lost a

About this time there is a
severe strain on the youthful
mind, as it wrestles in agonizing
presperation over the building
of an original valentine that shall
carry consternation to the heart
of a well fortified female.

Prof. Ducus’ room went to
the Shiloh school yesterday,
January 26th. We had a fine
time. We started at 9:30. After
we had patched about three blow-
outs and finally took off the cas-
ing of one of the cars, we reach-
ed Shiloh at about 10:30. We
had gone six miles in an hour.
We visited the school from 10:30
until 2:30 in the evening. Then,
the debate betweed the sixth
graders took place. The ques-
tion was, “Resolved, the horse
is more useful to man than the
cow7.” Affirmative, Harvey Cook
and Ollie Adams. Negatives,
Eva Bonham and David Fritz.
Little Hope won the decision.

^ The Eye a
a Specialtys]
The science of detecting and correct-
ing' defects of the eye is a profession
in itself, and should not be attempted
by inexperienced persons, as many
times these defects and muscular insuf-
Seieneies can be discovered only by
a careful and thorough examination
at the hands of a competent specialist.
Why take chances when my sixteen
years' continuous practice in this one
profession places me in a position to
guarantee absolute correct diagnosis
in the ijiost difficult cases?

In all towns there are always
fellows who are pretty heavy on
