Eugene Lorton is publisher of
the Tu.lsn Daily World and has
resided in Oklahoma since
1911. Born in Middletown,
| Mo., on May 29, 13G9, early in
his youth he went to Texas
with Lis parents, but returned
soon to Kansas and became a
printer’s apprentice, later pub-
lishing papers of his own at
Medicine Ledge, Kansas,
Salubria, Emmett and Boise,
Idaho, and Walla Walla,
Washington.
In 1911 he removed to Tulsa
and purchased a half inter-
est in the Tulsa Daily World,
in 1917 acquired the other
half and has since been sole
owner.
Eugene Lorton is courage-
ous, liberal, sincere, thinks
for himself and concedes the
same privilege to others. He
is for Coolidge and Dawes and
will support no bloc or clique
in opposition to regular Re-
publican organization. He has
paid to Union Labor in Okla-
homa more than $1,000,000 in
wages in the past ten years.

manner as to give the least inconven-
ience to the inhabitants of said town
and all sidewalks, streets and propertj
disturbed by said grantee shall be re-

Section 3. In the construction anr.
repairing of said plant, all wiring shall
be done in accordance with the Nation-
al Electric Cod*-, and shall not in an\
manner interfere with any existing tel
egraph or telephone wires.

Section 12. The grantee, their suc-
cessors and assigns, shall have, and
there is hereby granted to it. the right
and privilege to use any and all of the
treets, alleys, avenues and public
places that shall hereafter become a
art or an addition to the town.
Secition 13. The grantee shall pay
for the printing of this ordinance and
the proclamation for an election upon
the approval of the same, and for the
portion of the ballots used in deter-
mining the question of such approval

Section 14. The franchise herein
.ranted, limited only as provided in
he foregoing sections, shall be in full
orce and effect for the period of twen-
y-one years from and after the date
