maiiiing there for 3 yoar.-v J'lien

ony 7 years ago, where by hard
work and painstaking care In* has
built up a wonderful big trade.

Hardware, Furniture,, and Imple-
menf -tores in western Oklalioni-
a. For several -v*"s after start-
ing into businc for himself, Mr.
Fast was ambit. for a busi-
ness education. So with that
firm deteriiur ition that has al-
ways brought him lo the fore,
lie entered (lie S. \V. N. at
Weatherford and Inter graduated
from Drnughan’s Practical busi-
ness College at Oklahoma City.
The results are shown by his re-
markable succes in business, and
by I be host of friends lie has
made.
Mr. W. d. Jahn. the vice pres-
ident, nf the company, and cash-
ier of I tie Colony Slate flank, is
a product of old Missouri, coma
ing to Oklahoma in t'JOfi, where
he has been affiliated with some
dT-flld' InrrrHng banks of the state,
and perhaps is as well informed
ns to the neods of the people as
any banker in Oklahoma. Since
dentifyinf himself with tho Col-
ony bank it has made a most re-
markable growth and tho over in-
creasing business shows real
hanking methods, and while Mr.
Jahu has been i nColony loss than
one year, we doubt that, thore is
a business man in Colony who
stands higher in tho respect of
our citizens and farmers than he
Mr. Jahn: has made himself a
big asset to Colony.
George Gilger, secretary and
treasurer of the company, hardly
noeds our introduction, he has
been in our town for fho past 7
years, and is considered one of
tho best siAosmen that ever sold
goods. After graduating from
the Capital City Business College
George entered tho grocery bus-
iness iu that city with marked
success. But the call of the big
open country caused him lo trade
his store for laud near Colony.
The trade brought him to onr
town, and to use his own words,
“I have never regretted the move.’
Goorge’s happy smile and hearty
handshake as well as his cheer-
ful “Hello Bill," has won hlin
many friends.-These friends, to-
gether with his business ability
and honest dealings has won him
the title of "The best salesman."
With such men as Fast, Jahn,
and Gilger at the helm, how can
any kind of business enterprise
be anything but a success? or
with such boosters in tho town
at the head of a realty company,
fail to make a town anything but
a real enterprising little city?
Colony is bound now to progress,
even faster in the future than it
has in the past, which is saying
"heaps" Watch and see how the
Succoss Realty Co does things.
If you think you have a bronc
that can't be rode, bring him to
Colony and the boys hero will
have said bronc as tame as old

TNI REFUBLIOAN IMUE
(Poteau News.)
It is now clear that the repub-
licans will make their next cam-
paign on n straight anti.league
of nations platform. They aro
short of an issue since the bloody
shirt hus faded out and tho dinner
pail has been knocked into a
cocked hat, and thoy are after
anything that promises to satisfy
the hungry. They are still living
among the fnntoms of long ago
and cannot segregate tho present
from the past. Fact is the repub-
lican party has developed in re-
cent years to nothing more than
nn overgrown ninety horse power
appetite and it is just as practical
to grow black jackasses on black
jack oats as it is to instill an up-
lifting idea into tho heads of the
large number of men who aro now
bending that parky on to the
shoals of destruction. They will
oppose any move, knowing it ia
good, if it does not conic from
some member of their inner cir-
cle rtf the holier of hollers. The
democratic party makes mistakes,
some dreadful ones, but it has not
)oen u shining miserable mistake
for ten years at a stretch, and we
do not believe there will be any-
ono who will deny the faet that
tho republicans can be charged
with nnything elso since they
woro kicked out of power ten
years ago.
