The Konawa ball club will try their
luck against the home team Sunday,
17th. Tittry say that tlhey have a
good ball club and will certainly give
a good account of themselves, as
they have an exceptionally strong
battery in Foshee and Terry. To
win ball games it takes good pitch-
ing. Foshee has been with the Ok-
lahoma University and has an excel-
lent record; Terry as a catcher is
extra good. These two men, sup-
ported by a good team, will show our
boys that a victory will not be easy.
Our team will be about the same.
Our boys still have the strong com-
bination that makes a winner, but

F. C. Armstrong of the News-Her-
ald has received from his brother. H.
C. Armstrong of 10th Co., 7th Pro-
visional Regiment, the following
brief note regarding the work for
which he gave up a very lucrative po-
sition recently:
'I have been at officers training
camp almost a month and am making
good progress. Have passed credit-
ably examinations in infantry drill,
regulations and semaphore signaling.
We have a lot of work and study. I
have applied for the field artillery
and today passed the test in horse-
manship. It 1s not good military
sense to write much about the camps
movement of troops, etc., so I can't
tell you the many things that would
interest you. However. 1 think I can
safely say that some day the United
States will have a great army and as
good as any the world has ever, seen.
The regular army officers are doing
almost superhuman things. They de-
serve the strongest co-operation of
the country."
